What is Spinal Decompression?
Spinal Decompression is a type of spinal traction that is used for a wide range of different conditions. These conditions can include but are not limited to: Lumbar disc herniations, cervical disc herniations, chronic low back or neck pain, leg pain, arthritis, etc. Decompression works by slowly stretching your low back or neck. As the table slowly stretches you it is creating a negative pressure within the discs being treated. This negative pressure can be compared to creating a vacuum within the disc. This vacuum then helps to retract herniated or bulging disc material that may be pushing up against nerves.
Decompression also helps with chronic low back or neck pain that may have turned into arthritis. Decompression helps to takes the pressure off compressed discs that naturally get compressed through out life. By stretching and hydrating these compressed discs it can help alleviate chronic low back or neck pain.
